So sorry to hear you are having health issues Brother. I hope you are getting some good care from the VA. I know they are capable of doing so much more today than ever before so hang in there and know we are all thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery.

Here is an update on our Adopt a Grave initiative that we started this year. The intent of this program is to lay a wreath on the gravesite of each of our 26 Brothers that were killed in Vietnam.

So far we have at least one Honor Guard volunteer for 25 of our 26 Vietnam losses. A total of 42, 589th Association members have volunteered for this honor. The only Brother not represented is Ronald Moe who is buried in Anaconda, Montana. If you or someone you know in the 589th would like to volunteer to lay a wreath on Ronald's gravesite please let us know.

We are also still looking for few more volunteers for those Brothers that only have one Honor Guard. Go to the Adopt a Grave webpage for details.

For you guys that have already volunteered, "Thank You" from all of your 589th Brothers. You are giving true meaning to the words "Never Forgotten"

Just spoke to Billy Stemen from C Co. He is not doing very well in his fight with prostate cancer.

If you can give him a call sometime to cheer him up, please do.

Well, as you know Cirilo does not get on the computer so this is Diane for him, he was hospitalized 5 times last year but doing ok. We are praying that this next appeal will get us somewhere with V.A. he is not a candidate for the heart transplant due to new problems... But be sure I will NEVER give up!!
He is really hoping that he will get to feeling better soon, he wants to make it to 2015 September reunion. We have a friend that drove us out to Phoenix Az. for the meet and greet, he was in Vietnam 1970 with the 518 ?? Engineer's. his name is Jack Godinho. He is wanting to drive us

Nick, hope your recovery is easy and you don't have very much pain.

Part of my last entry did not show up. What I was saying was DO NOT be afraid to work with the VA. There are many stories that did not turn out well but overall the care and service is great. If you are told no you have the right to ask why and to see if there are different things to try. If you have questions I suggest you call Chuck Begley for direction on where to go, he will guide you along. I also said I was now going to be at the reunion and I was looking forward to seeing you all there. I just made my reservation and also booked my room so I hope many of you are getting read

Hell-o Brothers! I am sitting at home recovering from right knee replacement that I had done 2 weeks ago. All of this is being handled by the VA. Where I live I was able to go to an outside surgeon as there is not one on staff at the VA Hospital. The care, the follow up, (painful) therapy and all medication is being paid for by the VA with some of the cost being paid by Medicare (the VA rep suggested home therapy by Medicare as the are more flexible and pay 100%). Right now I am walking with a cane and hope that when the staples come out tomorrow I will feel even better. DO NOT be
