Just got the news last night that my son Matt (the Marine) is engaged to his pretty lady Lauren. They will be here on Monday to celebrate with my family. Merry Christmas to all my brothers, it's going to be a special Christmas down here in Texas.

THE FORT WAS MANNED BY A KOREAN TIGER COMPANY LED BY AN OFFICER WE CALLED CAPTAIN DIAMOND BECAUSE OF HIS INFACTUATION WITH THE BEATLES SONG "LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS ". :toast:

MY TOUR OF DUTY WAS FROM APR 68 -MAY 69 HAVING SPENT THE FINAL 6 MTHS. AT PHAN RANG. IT WAS THERE THAT I MET BRAD KELLER , ROBERT THIGPEN AND JOE BAUMSTARCK. IT WAS BY ACCIDENT THAT I CAME ACROSS THE 589TH SITE.I WAS DOING SOME RESEARCH FOR A FRIEND OF MINE WHO WAS WITH THE 9TH INFANTRY AND RECOGNIZED THESE THREE GUYS IN PICTURES BELONGING TO ALLEN HARVEY .
I VAGUELY REMEMBER ALLEN AND THE OTHERS FROM B COMPANY.
