I have sent each of you a personal note, but also would like to comment on your losses on behalf of your brothers who are unable to reply. I can speak for all of us when I say we are deeply saddened and burdened by your grief. If we were able to lighten your load, we would do so. If we were able to make the pain go away, we would do so. If we were able to protect you from the hardships of life, as Brothers we would do so. Please know that you can lean on us, turn to us to carry your load, and count on us to help you up when you have fallen. As Brothers, we will be thinking of you often and keeping you in our prayers.

Was assigned to 511th (PB) and 553rd (FB) at Ft Campbell, KY in 1965. Went to Vietnam with 553rd in June 65 by ship USNS Patrick . Ended up at Cam Rahn Bay assigned to 1st Log Command for a couple months and the assigned to A Co. 326th Abn Engr. at Tuy Hoa. Never seen 55rd after that. Photo in Tuy Hoa Mid Nov 65

lost my mom in oct and now my wife has passed away

I lost my oldest sister in Jan and lost my other sister yesterday. Please pray for me and my family over our lost.

David, I think I remember you. Come and join us at the reunion. We would enjoy having you.

I was with the 589th Engineers Co.D. From December 1968 to June 69. I worked around the camp, as there was no spot for me in my MOS 62K20, so I was assigned to KP duty where I lit the stoves for the cooks. One morning as I was lighting the stoves for morning breakfast, one of them exploded giving me 3rd degree burns to my legs. I always thought that the women from the village, that worked in the kitchen, had something to do with the explosion, as I made them mad by smiling at them as they squatted in a circle talking to one another. One of them jumped up and said F--ck you GI, and a few days later boom. I was medevac'd out of D CO, and on my way home VIA Japan.
