i just wanted to thank perry for helping me with the web site , i am not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to computers. my wife ask me what ever happened to voting on things that affect our lives and our pocket books , when i ask what she was talking about she said this Obama care ,we did not have one word to say about it . i feel so sorry for our children and there children , we are leveling them one screwed up America, they have more problems to face then we ever did , whats going to happen when these kids cant pay rent and buy food and take care of there kids ???? we had jobs and we had a voice in our country and the way it is run , now our vote dose not mean squat. i for one at this point in time have no idea why we served in another country and let our own go to hell in a hand bag ,can some one tell me what are we supposed to do when our kids are starving and all the people from Mexico, Ukraine and all the rest have the jobs and my kids and yours are doing without sad

served in "C" Company 02/67 to 02/68. Had prostate cancer and now is in remission. Now have diabetes mellitus, chirrhosis of liver, blood disorder, bone marow disorder all associated with Agent Orange. Also suffer from PTDS. Also I would like to hear you guys talk some about your Cooks and Medics that took care of you during the time you v were away from home. I was involved in several indicents that have never been mentioned or that is a matter of U.S. Army Records. Yes I know some things were keep unreported to make higher ups look good on their performance evaluations.
As a matter of note I earned a MOS as a Heavy Equipment Operator and OJT's as a cook. I was a draftee (2-yrs) and proud of it. I served in the U.S. Army Reserve for one year and disharged as a E-6. Earned a B.S. and M.S. Degrees using the GI Bill. I was employed as a Supervisory Special for a large Government Agency and retired as a GS-13 I think is equal to a military lieutenant Colonel.

richard i was in a.co may70 to may71 dont remember exact date but some guys went tdy for 3or4weeks to laos or cambodia to build something? they needed. i remember a guy we all called whisper that drove a 10ton and when they got back the truck fuel tanks were full of bullet holes cause our shop welded the holes shut. they never talked much about why they went!! big secret i guess. just thought i'd comment after reading your posts.

Does anyone remember Joe Mick...Dee Reeves... Dennis Knight..or Ray Seiber..from B Co...EM platoon. I was there from Dec 68-Dec 69.

Does anyone recall when a platoon of C Company went TDY with an armored unit to put in Bailey Bridges in an area where we hadn't established a military presence? I believe it was a 1st Cav armored unit moving into perhaps Phan Thiet? I believe we were gone for about 3 weeks.

Another time we went TDY to Cam Ran Bay to erect guard towers on the beach after sappers came in from the ocean and blew up an army convalescent hospital.

One other TDY assignment was to lay down perforated metal in the middle of the jungle to erect what was obviously a plane runway. It was all kept hush hush and we were ordered not to talk about it. I always thought we might have been in Cambodia but my memory is just to foggy to remember any details.

B Co. had a dry span bridge built in the field across from the Co. area and lifted out to the West side of DEROS Hill on QL-11 in the fall of 69. I don't remember anything about Koreans, but I wasn't out there that day? The Dry Span was upstream a little as a By-pass from where the 2nd Plt. built its Bridge #7, PEANUTS. I have pictures of the Heavy Lift Choppers lifting the sections out and my buddy sent me a picture of the Dry Span in place by the Bridge.

69-May70 that involved a pre assembled dry span with a heavy lift chopper. Don't know if it was a primary bridge or a by pass. It was set late in the day and the crew had to wait until the Koreans secured the road for them to go back to base. Does anyone remember this project?

I was in D company from March 1966 to April 1967 If anyone remembers me I would like to hear from you. I left Ft Hood on the train to Oakland and then to Viet Nam on the uss John pope.
