I've been trying to locate a589th member who lived in Dayton Tn. I've lost his name and have not been able to remember or find any records.He was in headquarters co, or A co.grew a mustache and played a 12 string guitar ,The song, Detroit City,I wanta go home wasplayed often during our time at Phan Rang. If anyone has any info on this individual please let me know.

Anita and I really hated to miss the last reunion.We have made resevations and are looking forward to seeing everyone in Branson in Sept. My recovery is going well from my aortic anuerism surgery last Aug thanks to Gods grace and Anita's loving care and lots of prayers thank you 589th brothers.

Welcome home, I'm the son of a vet looking to find anyone or anything out about my fathers time in at war. What I've learn so far is that he was part of the 577th (Co D I think) when it became part of the 589th. After a lot of looking I think he was a Sapper, he was a Demo expert and spent most of his time moving not actually with his unit. His name was Ronald Anderson (a.k.a Fat Daddy, Andy) He was a great man lost the battle with agent orange at 55. He just never talked about the hell that lived with in him. I was in Aco 84th april 69 to march 70 pleicu quinnon tuyhoa quinnon then home then back to nam may 70 to i think may 71 A co 589th phanrang then transferred to 815th up towards dalat may 71 to june 71 then back to the world and out !!!

I was going through some of the web pages. There is a Todd Horner looking for someone from the 51 asphalt patoon. There was a guy I think named Horner, but not sure what his job was, or where was from. I worked mostly on 5 to 8 ton roller, sometimes on the paver. I would like to know if any of you know a guy guy named Sibernickel (sp). Thanks for setting web sit, its great.

I worked in the quarry at Phan Rang -true during the rainy season things were slow,even boring because the crusher screens would clog up but when the weather cleared up, we worked practically around the clock to make up for lost production and that was no picnic or R & R. My R & R was when I went to Bangkok,Thailand.

I am glad some had a good time in Phan Rang. It was like R&R when we got to go into Phan Rang on supply runs.

I was with 51 asp plt from 68 to 69. I remember Richard Weaver and I think Michael Copeland. Had a good time with all the people in the 51st asp plt.. We had a good time at Phan-Rang

Anyone from B Co. remember us asphalt guys that got ambushed 31 Jan. 1971? I was shot in the gut when that happened. I was a "short timer" with 28 days left over there, what a bummer!
