Bob Spencer videod an amazing interview with Cirilo Silva about how Cirilo managed to survive 5 bullet wounds and make it to safety on his own. Clyde Hutson has joined the segments of the video together and sent it to Perry. Perhaps viewing this video and some of the other videos might be worthwhile at the reunion? Cirilo and his wife have not been doing well.

Many people were missing from the last reunion because of the hurricane going on in many states. So I'll provide an update on the decision that was made about changing the reunion location. It was decided that anyone who wanted to change the location from Branson is to provide a written proposal to the Association that includes such things as the city location, the hotel to be used, the hotel room rates, amenities provided by the hotel, hotel open bar policy, availability and cost of conference rooms, local attractions (especially for the wives), nearness to an airport, etc. This is May. Hopefully there will be some fully researched proposals provided to the membership in September. 50 years - who would have thought!

Essayons to all 589th Engr. brothers. I did my time 'in country' with C co. 39th EngrBn(CBT) in 69/70,,,,We also wore the "Sword Up" patch...Reason I'm adding this note is that today on a visit to Cochran VAMC in St. Louis,MO. I seen a decal of it on a Ford, whose tags were the VN plate of MO. and said '589ENG"...Parked next to whomever was the owner, with my tags reading "C39ENG". He was still at some appointment when I left him a note under his wipers. Forgot any info as to cell #, etc., but thought I'd 'shout out ' here in he comes by. This encounter was 4/30/2018,@ 1100 hrs. If he sees my tags later it would be great to meets another "Castle man" !!

I talked to Denis yesterday about attending HOF for William Clifton (Arkansas). I informed him I will not be able to attend the memorial this year due to my health. I will however be there in heart and spirt just as I was actually there. My health has gone down hill for a while. Perry Blanchard stood in my place last year. I am very sad that I can not attend as it was one of the yearly things I really looked forward to doing.
I want to thank all my Brothers for the prayers. I will not give up the fight !!!!

This is Wayne H Bergeron in Cherokee Village Arkansas. I will not be able to participate in the HOF Memorial this year. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 copd, neuropathy, anemia, heart failure and colon problems. I am not even getting out of the house these days, only to see my doctors... tell all the guys I said hello. I know some will want to call. Prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thought I would try to post before Willie, 50 years ago tomorrow I returned from The Worst Best year of my life up to that point. Later Jesus, wife, kids, Grandkids and this month a Great Grand son, good friends and health. I'm truly Blessed. Welcome Home Brothers.

Brothers of the 589th, we have a brother in very bad health. The Brother is Alex Hill. I talk to Alex wife the other day and she said was in a home trying to get beyyer so he can come back home. I ask all of you to ,keep Alex in your prayers like Patsy and I are. May God bless all of you.
